ABOUT

Ben Holt - Owner

I am the proud owner of Jackson Family Cycle. Back in my high school days, I embarked on an exciting summer gig at Rock 'n' Road Cycle of South Haven. As I navigated through my college years, dabbling in various "careers," it became crystal clear that my heart belonged to bikes, and would forever be dedicated to the world of bicycles. Having dedicated 15 fruitful years to Rock 'n' Road, the stars finally aligned, granting me the perfect opportunity to establish my very own shop, armed with all the wisdom and guidance bestowed upon me by my beloved friends and mentors.

Why Jackson Family Cycle?

My Grandfather was Don Jackson Jr.  Him and my Grandmother, Dorothy (Klute) were both teachers and an inspiration to many in South Haven. When Don retired from teaching he was given a bicycle as a retirement gift. He hadn't been a biker at all before. Shortly after my grandpa and his brother took some of their kids on their first bike trip. They decided on a small trip from Washington to Michigan. They prepared by riding from South Haven to Saugatuck and Back.  After surviving that cross country trip my family got hooked on biking. My grandpa and his brother rode 100 miles in all 50 states along with many other trips. Including taking most all of his grandkids on Apple Cider Centuries and the P.A.L.M.

My Uncle was Don Jackson III, all of the family called him Dee. He became an accountant and opened up the Jackson Group. He settled down in the town that has always felt like home to our family. We would all join at his house for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners in what was once my Great Grandparents house.

After Dee's passing I felt it was only right to honor the family that has given me the passion of cycling and the gift of helping me start my own shop.

I look forward to meeting everyone and being apart of the community that has never been my home, but always felt like it.
